    I have a better idea!

These work somewhat but often fail to hold the sail in place when occasionally the wind picks up. A better solution would be to provide a rod for the back like the front rod and another sand bag on the back. This would totally support the sail in an upright position. A newer model would have a rear sleeve for a rear rod just like the front. A retrofit kit would adapt this new setup to older sails that don’t have the rear rod sleeve pocket.
