The Park Vista shade is awesome. It’s compact enough to keep in my car without taking up space, but makes a huge difference on sunny sidelines or at the park. I can set it up in about two minutes, and it provides plenty of coverage for the whole family.

Can I use my Shibumi Park Vista™ on the Beach?

Park Vista™ is designed to anchor best in grass and natural ground, so it’s not the ideal fit for ocean side setups. For beach days, we recommend the Shibumi Beach Shade as it’s specifically built to perform beautifully in those conditions.
How long does it take to set up and takedown?

About 2 minutes. No extra hands needed. One person, quick setup, quick takedown, done.
Can I connect multiple Park Vista™ Shades together?

Yes, Park Vista™ is modular, so you can zip multiple shades together for larger group coverage.
Does it provide sun protection?

Yes, UPF 50+ fabric helps block harmful UV rays so you can stay out longer.
Is it waterproof?

While it’s not fully waterproof, Park Vista™ is water-resistant and designed to keep you comfortable through light drizzles.
How is this different from a 10x10 tent?

All the shade, none of the struggle. Park Vista™ delivers a similar footprint at nearly 10x lighter than a 10x10—sets up in minutes, no wrestling required.
Does it work on hard ground?

The Park Vista is made for grass or soft ground. In the event that the ground is too hard to stake, here are some tips:

  • Tip 1: If Vista pole goes in part way and stops, move the pole a few inches to avoid rock, root, etc that could be preventing the pole from fully inserting

  • Tip 2: If you have access to a water source, dump about ½ gallon of water on the ground where the vista poles will insert. Allow to sit and soak into ground, then insert poles

  • Tip 3: Purchase a Hand Screw that can be kept inside your vista bag for locations with hard grass or dirt.

    Great for backyard play

    Easy to install, nice material, thoughtful design and storage bag! We get a good amount of shade for our water table and can play outside longer because of it.

    Good design and materials but ineffective

    I thought this was going to be a game changer but unfortunately it just doesn’t work for me in Texas. For starters, the poles get so hot that they burn your hands. You cannot take this thing down without some sort of protection. Secondly, most of the ground is not soft enough to get it in around here. I’ve done the water tricks but still have to use a mallet and constantly have to reposition to find a spot without a hidden rock. Next, I find it useless between about 10 am - 2 pm when the sun is overhead. You have to bend it so far down you can’t see out of it. As the sun moves through the day, you have to keep moving it around.

    That being said, I think it would be fine for a one hour park picnic with soft grass on a mildly sunny day. The design is really good and I think the materials are top notch. It just doesn’t work for me here. I will stick with a popup canopy when I need serious shade.

    Overall, I wouldn’t buy again unless I had the one specific use case, which is why I suppose it’s called the park vista.

    Extra time in the pool!

    As a big fan of the beach Shibumi shade I knew I had to give this a go. I have spent years looking for a way to get some extra shade over our pool in the evenings when we actually have time to be in it. Pup approves! I write this review after 2.5 hours floating, reading and actually enjoying the pool in our Texas heat rather than having to wait until the sun is down and not getting such quality relaxing time… the only problem is I think I want another one!

    Shade anywhere

    Put the Park Vista up in the middle of the lawn on a sunny day and watch what happens - it attracts adults with chairs and kids with toys.

    Goes up and comes down easily, even when you have a two-year-old child "helping."

    It would be perfect if the clear plastic point covers (protective caps) had a tiny storage pocket inside the bag.

    Easy install and soooo needed for grankids

    I bought 2 of these shade tents and they were used every moment by my 6 week + 1 year old + 3 year old and 4 year old grankids!!! Then a terrible storm (hail and 80 mph wind) came through on 4th of July - in Litchfield County and we ran outside to gather all and these tents were so easy to grab and bring into garage!!
