Shibumi Shade with Quiet™ Canopy features our quietest canopy yet. We spent more than two years developing the perfect custom fabric to reduce noise, so it stays quieter in high winds. The new Quiet Canopy also features an updated connection point where the cord connects to the shade allowing the poles to slide smoothly through the channel during setup without getting stuck. The new canopy also has a higher recycled content.

How Does It Work?

Shibumi Shade® beach shades are designed to float effortlessly on the ocean breeze. As little as 3 mph of wind is all it takes to keep the canopy floating comfortably.
Because the canopy has no rigid structure, Shibumi Shade cannot fly away in a strong gust, or tumble down the beach.

Which Size Shibumi is Right for Me?
The Shibumi Shade Classic is best for families and groups of 3 to 6, with room leftover for bags, coolers, beach gear, etc!
The new Shibumi Shade Mini is best for small groups (1-2 people), and provides about half of the shaded area of the original Shibumi Shade.

My Shibumi is amazing! I’ve always hated how flimsy and cheap beach umbrellas are—they break so easily and barely provide enough shade for ONE person. I set up my Shibumi for the first time the other day, and honestly, I was worried it would be complicated, but it was incredibly easy and there was SO MUCH SHADE!
The only downside is that we were at Myrtle Beach, SC, where Shibumis aren’t allowed during peak season, which I did not know. Luckily, I live in North Carolina, where I can use it without any issues—haha! Overall, I’m so glad I made the switch from umbrellas.
It's a high quality item i'll probably use for the rest of my life!

Was nervous with the investment but worked great for our week vacation at the beach. Every day was different with the wind. Just need to adjust if the wind shifts throughout the day but the only happened once. If you’re on the fence about getting the mini or classic you can’t go wrong with the classic.

Finally bought a Shibumi Shade for our family to take to the beach and we love it! There are 5 of us and we fit nicely under the larger shade. I was a little nervous about it being “loud” as I read a few comments stating this but that was not our experience. It sounded like a waving flag at worst. We did have one day we had to use the wind assist and they worked out well too when there was no breeze. It was super easy to carry, set up and take down. We wish we had bought it sooner!

We were introduced to the original Shibumi thru friends. Given the price, we considered other products for the beach. Eventually, we decided on the shibumi with wind assist with the 10% discount and free shipping. We purchased the 4-8 person size. Today was the first day we used it. Setup and take down were easy and quick. It got very windy at times and the noise was minimal, especially compared to our friends original. We are happy with our purchase and are looking for to many years of use.

We bought our shade for a beach trip and loved the easy setup and breakdown! When we noticed an issue with the wind assist and contacted support, they responded within minutes (on a holiday weekend no less!) and had a new wind assist in my mailbox within a week. Good support is such a rarity these days, I’d buy again just for the customer service!
