How is the new Shibumi Shade with Quiet™ Canopy different from the previous version?
Shibumi Shade with Quiet™ Canopy features our quietest canopy yet. We spent more than two years developing the perfect custom fabric to reduce noise, so it stays quieter in high winds. The new Quiet Canopy also features an updated connection point where the cord connects to the shade allowing the poles to slide smoothly through the channel during setup without getting stuck. The new canopy also has a higher recycled content.
How much quieter is it?
Significantly quieter. Our new Quiet Canopy has a softer, more pleasing sound at all wind speeds. The softer fabric with added stretch also significantly reduces loud flapping in high winds.
How Does It Work?

Shibumi Shade® beach shades are designed to float effortlessly on the ocean breeze. As little as 3 mph of wind is all it takes to keep the canopy floating comfortably.
Because the canopy has no rigid structure, Shibumi Shade cannot fly away in a strong gust, or tumble down the beach.

Which Size Shibumi is Right for Me?
The Shibumi Shade Classic is best for families and groups of 3 to 6, with room leftover for bags, coolers, beach gear, etc!
The new Shibumi Shade Mini is best for small groups (1-2 people), and provides about half of the shaded area of the original Shibumi Shade.

I have had 2 smaller Shibumi Shades, but this year graduated up to the large size. I am a UNC grad, so you don't have to go too far out on a limb to guess what colors I ordered! It is just perfect. I am a 73 year old grandmother and I put it up in a jiffy. What a product!!

I highly recommend investing in Shibumi because it’s super easy to set up and it provides excellent sun protection. The price is higher than Neso which is the one we previously had but you can’t even compare it. We always struggled to keep The Neso from falling. We have been using the large Shibumi several times at the beach and every time was a windy and sunny day and it always stayed put. I absolutely loved it and now my husband is a believer in investing in a great product for the beach. Thank you Shibumi team!!

I have not yet used my new Shibumi shade but was recently at the beach with friends who have one. The shade is so easy to set up especially with 2 people and take down. Does a great job for shade and is very small to pack and light to carry. Can't wait to use.mine.

Been wanting one of these for years. I love the Ocean color and the mini size was perfect for the 2 of us. Had a little issue b/c it wasn't much of a windy day but we figured it out and made it work. Very easy to set up and move as the sun moves. Love it!

This shade made our family of 4 beach trip much more enjoyable than crowding under 1 umbrella. 2 days didn't have enough wind so we utilized the extra sand bags that worked great. It took a little experimentation to learn that the closer you align to the wind direction the better chance to keep it fully aloft. Also experiment with the angle you like to put the poles into the sand, and you can shift the shade to one side or another other to have a better view of the ocean. When taking down I found that it's best to not remive the shade from the poles and just bunch it in the middle then roll it up. The quieter fabric was a noticeable improvement and I liked the summer sky color. The next evolution should be hard ground anchors that can be pounded in that the poles can be inserted into when using away from the beach. Unfortunately our beach (South Bethany DE specifically banned Sibumi shades but I used it anyway) come arrest me. Haha

We really enjoyed the ease of use at our recent beach vacation. Friends of ours had one and referred us. However, we are first time buyers and we weren’t allowed to use both the 10% first time buyer discount and the $20 referral toward from our friends, for our purchase. It would seem to me that most people being referred are first time purchasers so then no one would be able to use the $20 referral discount.

After wrestling a pop up canopy and a lot of research for easy to use beach shades and purchased this one. It’s so small, lightweight, and easy to put up. We ended up getting two and putting one in front of the other to make a bigger area of shade for our bigger group. I just purchased a third one as a gift for my cousin that loves beach adventures as well!
