The new Shibumi is definitely quieter than the original and now comes with the wind assist kit - yay! Superior customer service as I didn't catch that it defaulted to my home address and I needed it shipped to me at the beach. They fixed it for me and I had it two days later. Now, instead of looking for my faded original (I took the fading as a badge of honor with it being used over probably 16 summer weeks ), I can now find my patriotic Shibumi which provides so much shade and allows me to stay on the beach all day reading or writing my next book.

I am very fair skinned but love the beach, so drag a regular beach umbrella everywhere and my poor husband is constantly having to mess with it to keep it up. I've drug my feet on buying a Shibumi because of the price, but finally decided to bite the bullet before Memorial Day trip. It paid for itself on the first day, and by the 4th day, my husband asked why I hadn't gotten it sooner. They are expensive, but so worth it! When you look down the beach and see so many people have them, that's not an accident

We go to our favorite beach every summer and use the Shibumi shade every time. It started with just a rental on one the first time which was extremely convenient. After that we purchased because we knew we would use for a long time. It's easy to put up and take down. Comes in a nice carry bag! Highly recommend!
