This thing is awesome. Casts a huge shadow, quite, easy to set up and tear down. Even if there is no wind there are options to have some tension by filling included bags with sand. This is a must have for a family beach trips. Packs into a light weight small bag. Also read a copy of the old spy novel Shibumi by Trevanian under your Shibumi . I can’t tell which one is better. Cheers!

After seeing a Shibumi for the first time last year in Cocoa Beach Fl. We thought, how cool. Before heading down again this spring I decided to go for it even though it’s a bit pricy compared to other options. I’m so glad I gave in to the indulgence as it has been a real joy for us. It almost sets itself up it’s that easy. Even in a good breeze one of us can set it up ourselves. If gives us enough shade for two with enough shade to spare for three. We’ve had at least six strangers come over to ask about it and we do nothing but gush. It sers up and breaks down in five minutes and fits in a slim bag the fits in my folding beach chair. If you are in search of something beyond a beach umbrella to keep the sun from burning you up , by all means treat yourself to the best, and by far the coolest one out there.
BTW- if kids are still in the picture, the Classic is big enough for six!

We all spent a lot on our Shibumi! What can be done to quite the flapping. Noise.? I bought the deluxe in December and now you have a new model that you say is even quieter!!! Can I exchange mine with your company ? People on the beach beg us not to set up near their space due to the obnoxious flapping noise!! HELP PLEASE

After fighting beach umbrellas for 30 years we got a shibumi the second year they were on the market. One of the first on Kiawah Island, counted 11 today in our area. Best shade made!!

There were no arguments, yelling, or worrying about large gusts of wind during setup. I was surprised by how long the pole is and worried I should have bought the smaller one, but quickly realized that it wasn’t a concern and the extra space was welcome. Someone walking by asked why our shade was so quiet compared to others on the beach, so the improved material is certainly an improvement.
