We took the shibumi mini with us to St Barths. We did the hike the Colombier Beach, it weighs nothing and was so easy to bring on the hike, even scrambling over rocks. Set up our shade in 2 min max and were the envy of everyone. My complexion is like that of a vampire or a flower that only blooms on a moonless night and while I love the beach it is always a stressful experience managing constant SPF vigilance and I almost decided against attempting this trek because of the lack of shade on the other end. This little shade gave me not just a nice shady spot but also immense peace of mind which just overall made the day. 10/10 worth every penny.

First, we live in Okinawa, Japan. The beach is a way of life for us! When we lived in North Carolina, we would see these shades all over the place. We finally decided to buy one, and we are glad we did!

When we got to the beach and used this shade for the first time, we were very skeptical as there was only a light breeze. When I say light, I mean you couldn’t really feel the wind at all. However, it was no problem. We got the shade up, and the breeze, which was about 3 mph, was more than enough to inflate the shade. Also, we watched another couple set up a shade that is in direct completion with the Shibumi Shade. In fact, it was one we considered buying too. I’m so glad we bought the Shibumi! On our first time setting this up, it only took us 3 minutes. We watched the other family struggle for about 30 minutes putting their shade up, which required multiple people, four poles, filling corners with sand, and trying to get the shade up right. Meanwhile, ours was up in a fraction of time AND we had more shade.

When the wind shifted, adjusting the shade was super easy. We just moved one pole and the sandbag. That was it! On another note, it is a conversation starter. I don’t know how many people stopped and looked at our shade curiously asking where we got it from!

This purchase was totally worth it! Cannot say enough great things about it.

We travel 2-3 times a year to Aruba. With the very strong winds there, we found we needed some kind of portable shade that would hold up. In 2021, we discovered Shibumi and decided to give it a try. It's so easy for my husband and me to put up and take down, and it provides plenty of shade for the two of us. It is a bit loud as you can tell from the included video, but we don't have a problem with that because it protects us from the strong Aruba sun. We recently ordered Wind Assist for the times we go in the Fall and often run into situations with very little wind. Thank you for this wonderful shade that far surpasses using a beach umbrella. We are so happy we made the decision to buy Shibumi!!
