We also believe in leaving the beach better than we found it. That's why the Shibumi Shade® canopy is now made from 40% ocean-bound recycled plastic.

With our new canopy, we optimized for weight and softness, which allows for the material to be significantly quieter in high winds.

Each year, at least 7 million tons of plastics flow into the oceans from land, and at current rates, there will be more plastic by weight in the oceans than fish by 2050.

To help address the root cause of ocean plastic, Shibumi Shade® beach shade now uses REPREVE® Our Ocean® fiber, made from plastic bottles at high risk of entering the ocean. These bottles are collected within 50 kilometers of coastlines in countries that lack formal waste or recycling systems.
